Vogue is a fashion and lifestyle magazine founded in 1892 by Athur Baldwin Turnure. This magazine was created for the New York's social elite to cover their high social events and local scene. It also cover social etiquette, books and plays. In 1909, Conde Montrose Nast the founder of Conde Nast publication bought Vogue and transformed it to the magazine of today. It focused on women's fashion, beauty, composure and etiquette.Vogue became know for is distinctive photograph and high fashion editorial photos. The owner Nast only wanted the best illustrator and photographers for the magazine. in 1932, Vogue became the first magazine with a color printed cover. In the 1960's, Vogue revolutionized the looks of many female models. in August 1974, vogue made history with their first ever African American model as cover of the magazine.
In 1988, Anna Wintour became editor of vogue and she transformed the covers forever. She puts emphasis on the women's body rather than just the face. She started to featured Hollywood actresses, fashion model, political ladies and lady of great influence. As one herself, Anna Wintour is very perfectionist and demanding. She only wants the best of the best. Always striking for perfection, Anna is always on the look out for new upcoming designer, ideas, model and fashion trend.She also began teen vogue in 2003, men's vogue from 2005 to 2008 in the United States. In 2003, Anna Wintour and the council of fashion created fashion fund for the next generation of designer. In 2009, vogue broke a record for the September issues, the biggest issues of the year. It is where all the new upcoming trend are showcased. They produce and 840 pages issues and made a movie about the September issue. Vogue for 120 years as dedicated itself to help women around the world to feel good and proud about themselves, all while looking very fashionable. This is the reason why in 2009, Vogue was pronounce the Fashion Bible by The New York Times.
